Welcome to the second piece in our series of four Fuel blogs. This blog is for anyone interested in learning more about the stuff we spoke about during your Fuel session in school. You may have arrived at this blog after scanning the QR code on your Fuel: Radiate postcard. Radiate is all about being a source of positivity in the spaces where we have influence.

Video TLDR: Our brain has an information filter called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). It has evolved a negativity bias to keep us safe. We can retrain our RAS to be better at noticing good stuff by actively and intentionally practising gratitude.

When making an effort to radiate positivity ourselves, our attention may easily be drawn to the negativity we see in the world around us, particularly in the news. Now, it's good to be aware of things that are going on. However, we often hear all of the scary, sad, and worrying stuff but little of the kind, encouraging, and uplifting stuff. Want to change that? It's important to be aware of solid sources of happy news.
