July Wellbeing Challenge
Welcome to July,
Half the year is already completed so that means there is only approximately 181 days left of 2017.
Roughly 174 days till Christmas, 124 days till fireworks night, 63 days till a new school year. There is between 51 – 23 days (depending on which week you’re going to) till Soul Survivor and just under 14 days till schools out for summer. 💃💃💃💃💃
But most importantly there is no time like the present to connect with those around you.
This month’s wellbeing challenge is all about you making some time to do this. It’s so easy to get into the business of routine we don’t make time for things that matter the most. Make a conscious choice this month to stop, look and listen to the wonderful people in your life. We all know the difference it makes when someone takes time to do that for us, so let’s begin by doing for others.
If we want our environment and the space around us to change, physically or emotionally it has to start with us.
Change starts with you, but it doesn’t start until you do.
Week 1 – 1 to 1
Make some time to invite to dinner or coffee someone in your life that is having a hard time and just sit and talk with them. Make sure your time is not restricted so that you don’t have to rush anywhere and can take as long as is needed.
Week 2 – Old
This week make time to connect with someone you have known for a while. That can be a friend or family member that you already connect with on a regular basis or someone who you haven’t spoken to for a long time. This can be a video call, a text, or a phone call.
Week 3 – New
This is your opportunity to make a new friend or connect with someone who is quite new to your life. Or maybe it’s that person you’ve known for a while but never connected with them outside of the situation that you met e.g. work, school or college. Take time to learn more about them and share about yourself. Who knows this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Week 4 – Community
For the final week of this challenge do something that makes you connect with the community. This could be a sports group, a gym class, your local church, a charity or voluntary organisation. Volunteer your time, get involved with something that’s bigger than you. Help out, stay & chat, learn something new about the people and place you live in.
Happy socialising.
