Westbrook Reloaded Summer Camp
Way back at the start of the summer holidays we took 57 young people off to the Isle of Wight for a fun packed week full of gunge, games and God!
Throughout the week we thought about what does it mean to be on a journey with God. The adventures, worries, joys and concerns of it. The tag line for the week was ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’. This ran through the teaching but also the games and activities we did; from gunge slides to bowling, from jumping in the pool fully clothed to fancy dressed hunt the leader an awesome time was had by all! Jumping in the pool fully clothed was a stand out moment as almost everyone took a symbolic leap of faith into the pool.
One young person commented ’I really enjoyed it, great atmosphere and I am still missing it! Can’t wait for next year!' With the only complaint at the end being that they wished it was longer we are looking forward to next year already and planning how it can be bigger, crazier and more faith filled than the last!
The dates for next year are Sunday 3rd to Saturday 9th August. If you are interested in joining us as a young person or a leader please do get in touch by e-mailing us here.
