Thank you!
This week (2nd - 8th June) is #VolunteersWeek and today we have been in Hitchin High Street looking to recruit some new volunteers - especially those to help with our Primary School Workshops.
There have been some good conversations with potential volunteers and lots of other opportunities to speak to local people about the work that we do.
So much of what we do wouldn’t be possible, or as impactful, without our amazing volunteers.
Over the week we have taken the chance to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many dedicated individuals who generously give their time and energy to support the work of Phase. We also start planning now for our annual volunteer BBQ; it’s one of my highlights of the year!
Our committed volunteers take on a variety of roles:
- Mentors - weekly 1:1 sessions
- Support Group helpers - working one session a week for 6 weeks, with small groups of secondary school students
- Primary School Workshop helpers - working with small groups of children (age 10-11yrs) helping them prepare to move from primary to secondary school. Workshops run each term over a 3 week period and volunteers chose which workshops they would like to help with
- Fundraisers - running stalls at local fairs and shows, raising both funds for and awareness about the work of Phase
- Administrative Assistants - packing resources for workshops or assisting with communications, volunteering, large event or fundraising admin
- Trustees - ensuring good governance of the charity
If you want any information about volunteering just contact us on 01462 422940 to have a chat or email office@phase-hitchin.org Every role is important, and every role is appreciated, as they make a huge difference to our community. We are proud to honour and celebrate them this week- and every week- for the difference they make to young lives in Hitchin.
