Earlier this week the NSPCC released statistics about the rise in self-harm amongst young people. Nspcc said
Nearly 19,000 children and young people in England and Wales were hospitalised for self-harm last year

This is an issue that may feel relatively new to some people, however it has been around for many, many years and as this data shows, it is rising.
In late November the BBC shared a story about two young lady's learning to live with the scars of their harming. It is a powerful and frank account about how life beyond self-harm still has many challenges. You can watch the video here . Some may find the content and images distressing

At Phase we want to promote wellbeing and resilience for all young people, prevent issues from developing and support those struggling with a mental health difficulty.
Through our work across schools we provide a variety of different programmes which aim to give young people the tools to cope with the challenges of teenage life, from assemblies thinking about understanding feelings and emotions to support groups for those struggling with self-harm or anxiety.
