Phase Mentoring
At Phase we are passionate about supporting young lives for a brighter day and a better future. We do a variety of work across Hitchin all pointing to this central mission we have. We aim to support their wellbeing and resilience, help young people to see hope, to be able to realise their value and potential, and ultimately thrive. One of the ways that we can do this is by providing one-to-one support, called mentoring. Phase have been enhancing young people's resilience and wellbeing through mentoring for over 21 years!
Mentoring helps build resilience, navigate change, develop healthy relationships and cultivate personal growth. A mentor works alongside a young person, supporting them through things they may be struggling with, guiding them, listening, encouraging them and serving as a positive role model. It creates a space where the young person can come as they are and be themselves, the space is for them and about them. They are at the core of every session.
Amy, a young person who was mentored by Phase said this: “Mentoring gave me a place where I could come and be myself and to talk about the things I was finding hard. I learnt lots of ways to help me manage and they encouraged me that I wasn't alone.”
We believe creating this space for young people is so important. Young people, like many of us, are grappling with a variety of challenges. Ranging from sadness, anger, loss, low self-esteem, anxiety, online pressures, and big emotions. Mentoring provides them a space to be able process some of these challenges and talk them through. We are passionate about equipping young people with tools to be able to continue to manage emotions and difficulties well and build good wellbeing and resilience.
If you feel that you or someone you know would benefit from mentoring from Phase at the moment please do get in touch by emailing support@phase-hitchin.org.
We offer mentoring across Hitchin secondary schools every week. If you are interested in mentoring in school please speak to someone in the wellbeing department of your school or contact us.
Our mentoring program can happen outside of school too. For more information on our Mentoring programme please download our information pack, where you will find the link to the referral form as well. You can also email support@phase-hitchin.org for more information or to discuss this program.
We would love to hear from you!
